I am so pleased for this opportunity to discuss environmental issues to increase awareness of our environment impact and how we can reduce this in our everyday lives.  I am sure that as Jina Life subscribers you already help the environment in one way or another however this blog feature is to build on and assist us become more environmentally friendly.

Climate change is an issue that has and will affect us all, therefore it is up to each and every individual to help protect our planet and reduce the impact of global warming.

For the next 10 weeks I will provide you with helpful, easy to implement, tips to live a ‘greener’ life and help reduce your impact on the environment.

Tip No.1- Lead a Healthy Lifestyle

This may sound like an obvious concept, however by living a healthy lifestyle you automatically reduce your impact on the earth.  There is a scientific connection between living a healthy lifestyle and therefore reducing your environmental footprint.

This is because you consume fewer resources thus maintaining a symbiotic relationship with the world we live in.  Living a healthy life means eating healthy foods in adequate portions, regular exercise, contributing to society through the work you do or volunteering to give back to the community in some way.  It means being a fit, healthy and active person.

To achieve this tip set a small goal to increase the amount of exercise you do or eat healthier portions for one day per week.

Another suggestion is that one night a week take a break from technology and ban all screens from your home.  This means no use of the computer, television, mobile phone, personal entertainment devices.  Instead go to an exercise class, go for a walk, cook dinner with your family, read a book or magazine, any other form of entertainment besides using electricity.

What do you think you can implement into your life this week?

Write it below, we would love to hear from you and inspire others at the same time!

Healthy Living,

Bronwyn Woodgate

A personal note… & Happy New Year for 2012!

Hi Everyone,

Firstly, Happy New Year for 2012!

Secondly, I don’t know about you but when I look back to the start of 2012, the 1st of January it seems like such a long time ago!

Now this isn’t something you hear very often… quite the opposite in fact.

Here we are in February and many people can’t believe January is already over.

So how can the 1st January feel so long ago? When I reflect back to all of the things I did and which occurred in January I can’t believe it was only 1 month!

Have you reflected back and noted all the things you achieved, enjoyed and shared in January? When you do this you might be quite surprised. But if not, ask yourself how you can make February your most productive month – even though its short.. or this year it’s actually long, it’s a leap year!

When I look back, for me January was filled with family, friends, hot sunny Australian weather, seeing clients, skyping clients, walking along the beach, filming 5 new sewing products for the online sewing business I share with my mum, reading 2 new books in the hammock, I had a big 24hour flight from Australia back to the UK, eased into the chilly weather cosy indoors with hot tea, braving it back into rowing on the cold river Thames at 5.45 in the morning, celebrating Australia Day in London with some Aussies and that’s just to name a few!

Phew! Sounds like I’ve been busy but funnily enough it didn’t feel that busy..

So how can you make 1 month feel like it’s been much more and be able to look back and think wow did I actually do all of that?

TWO THINGS!

1 – BE IN THE MOMENT

How do we do this? EXAMPLE: A few days before I left Australia I had many people ask me if I was excited about getting back to London. Now yes I was excited to think about seeing everyone back there but I wasn’t thinking about that too much because I was still ‘here’. In the moment. I was still in Australia and I knew soon enough I would be back in London and I learned a long time ago how to not look back with the feeling I should have made the most of it while I was there. So I stayed ‘in the moment’ and the days felt like they went forever.

We all need to look ahead to see where we’re going, plan and prepare for the future and new exciting opportunities ahead. However, after doing that don’t lose sight on today.

Our lives are made up of the years we live, the years are made up of weeks, weeks days, days minutes etc etc. Make it count and enjoy what you choose to do with your time. Make it valuable, memorable, give a lot, love a lot and make a difference to the lives you touch.

2 – FOCUS

Now I’ve been a pretty focused person for a very long time but I believe in always improving ourselves. Stepping up the level of FOCUS in January, with 100% attention for the thing I was doing, experiencing at the time, it got things done not only faster, but better, easier, more enjoyable and it was simply FUN. So easy in fact that you don’t end the month exhausted but instead energised!
